Here is a partial list of clients and a brief history of our work with each. Click on projects for specific examples of our work.

At the Natural Resources Defense Council we started by refining their 3-year Sustainable Operations Plan. We have advised them on various projects both large and small, ranging from office renovations to strategic and operational initiatives.

On the buildings side, we served as their owners representative for multiple office fit-outs, helping with all of the details from site selection to keeping projects as close to being on-time and on-budget as possible. We continue to help them with green building certifications. Their Chicago office became the first tenant-led fit-out in the world to achieve Living Building Challenge (LBC) Petal Certification (and LEED Platinum). We led LBC certification of their Beijing office, and are certifying their Chicago expansion and their San Francisco office (both underway). We have also helped with office-space management.

We have helped with numerous other projects such as:

  • Their 1st ever GRI report (Level A)
  • Business travel analysis with cost and emissions reduction recommendations
  • Analyzing energy savings from simultaneous energy efficiency projects
  • Renewable energy purchasing and offset strategy

We began working with Etsy to establish their ecological baseline and diagnose their performance. This led to assisting with mapping out a strategy to secure executive buy-in and support, and the establishment of working group of decision makers from across the company to co-create sustainability goals. We also helped ideate and investigate ways the company can assist and incentivize it’s sellers (~1.4MM at the time of this writing) to implement sustainability improvements.

We worked on a feasibility study for New York Mayor’s Office of Long Term Planning and Sustainability conducting an energy and emissions analysis that compared operating food truck and cart generators from grid power rather than gasoline or diesel. A pilot is currently underway.

We helped  Inward Point, a premier sustainable events company, to quantify and track the sustainability performance of their events. We developed a reporting tool to systematically measure the impact of their events by category and compare their performance against typical events.
